Genazzano – Capranica Prenestina

This route, which follows the old communal road that joined the two towns of Genazzano and Capranica Prenestina, represents a 360-degree experience in what the Prenestine Mountains have been over time for the communities that have settled here. We might think of art, a path that unites two excellences of the bramante school, the dome at Capranica prenestina and the nymphaeum at genazzano, a thought that declines step by step on either side of the path giving a glimpse of how those territories, which are being renaturalized, were cultivated with wheat, olive groves, and centuries-old chestnut trees; this too is an art, that of living inch by inch in an often difficult environment. One walks and imagines a world that in a few decades changes from one form of beauty to another. The slope of the trail is the very soul of the passage of time, places that have seen entire communities tear up land for a subsistence economy that has changed today and where among the rich vegetation recapturing the spaces shows signs of the art of survival and adaptation.
